Howard Parsons

Howard readily admits that BNI is the best thing that has happened to his business. An enthusiastic member of the Hoos Hoo Chapter since March of 2009, Howard puts his quarter century of experiece with Scottish family societies to work as the chapter's Visitor Host and webmaster.

Howard has resided in Charlottesville, VA for 27 years and lives at The Parsonage with his wife of 34 years, Judi, and their two cats, Rebus and Rankin. He graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College in 1974 with a BS in Biology and, following his 1975 marraige to Judi Vilagos of Wall, NJ, relocated to Atlanta, GA so that Judi could persue her graduate studies in Sociology at Emory University and he his graduate studies in Virology at Georgia State University. Along the way, Howard determined that a more profitable future lay in computers and data processing.

In 2008, Howard closed out a 30 year career in legal publishing having worked for The Harrison Company in Norcross GA, The Michie Company, and LexisNexis - both located in Charlottesville, VA. During his career in Legal Publishing, Howard developed the TOOL programming language as well as a vast array of applications and robotic processes to tranform, edit, publish, and transfer data using a variety of programming languages. At the time he departed the field, Howard was arguably one of the most senior software engineers in US Legal Publishing.

PC Services such as repair, data recovery and virus removal
US Agency services for businesses and organisations in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.

Howard's interests and hobbies include hiking, canoeing, family history, pipes (he has over 300), single-malt Scotch, heraldry, Scottish Family Associations and Highland Games (He keeps threatening to wear his kilt to BNI meetings), and travel to the United Kingdom. Howard also delivers the "Address To The Haggis" at Burns Night dinners and Scottish banquets. One of his favourite quotes is "I have a degree from NC Wesleyan College - I can do anything!"
